Iran is an ancient country, one of the cradles of civilization. Although we had been invaded by many cultures, like the Hellenes, the Arabs, the Mongols and had relations with the Chinese and Indians, we never lost our own authenticity. We learned from other cultures, and they learned from us. We have an unending treasury of beauty and inspiration – in poetry, science, philosophy, architecture, ceramic work, textiles, handicrafts, jewelry, metalwork, painting, miniatures and brickwork.
