I do not see the point in going into a room on your own for six hours and coming out thinking you're a tin of condensed milk. That seems to me the wrong way around to go about acting. And I’ve found that every Method actor always asks why but they never ask how. They always say, “What's my motivation?” I say your motivation Is your pay check, that’s it. But act, for fuck’s sake. They read like parrots, or mumble; they don’t project. When I say the camera photographs thought, it does, but it's a total concentration on identifying with your character. If you don't do that, if the thought is not there, the camera will just photograph an empty cranium. (it) |
